A legacy application for creating, storing and view X-ray images needed to be running and usable. A solution needed to be found that gave the clinician access to see x-rays for up to seven years after the image was created.

The application was virtualised. In doing so, we encapsulated the application and its environment, extending its lifespan and maintaining uptime. The final replacement of the x-ray application for a newer model was ultimately achieved, removing the outdated hardware in favour of a more modern, flexible solution.

By isolating the older application, we successfully extended its shelf life, increased its uptime and improved disaster recovery.
